I decided a couple of weeks ago to try taking feverfew extract as a migraine preventative. I didn't like the taste of it diluted in water or apple juice. So far, I've had best results putting it in herbal tea. I've been without migraines during the past week, and it was a good time to test since we've had severe thunderstorms (a known trigger for me) all week.
Here's my recipe.
Combine the following in a tea bag:
1 tsp raspberry leaf 3/4 tsp strawberry leaf 1 tsp blueberry leaf 1/4 tsp lemon peel 1 tbsp rose
Steep for 20 minutes in one to three cups boiling water. (I prefer using a drinking glass that holds three cups.)
After taking the tea bag out, add 1 to 2 tbsp honey and 1 ml feverfew extract or glycerite and stir well.
This tea is good hot or cold. I sip it throughout the morning, and it has no adverse affects since there is no caffeine.
