Sarah Blake is a minister with the Church of God (Anderson, IN). She has experience as a teacher of adult education classes and as a presenter of seminars on various topics of special interest. She has several years of experience singing with choral groups and worship teams and has a heart for worship as well as biblical teaching. She composes lyrics and music and often uses her songs in her presentations. In addition to her ministry activities, she provides community education programs to assist various groups, including children's groups, to learn about the needs of people with disabilities.
Sarah's training includes several years of instruction in voice, music theory, and music production as well as her more recent training in biblical studies and theology. She has been writing music since 1985; and her music ministry has taken her to churches in Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and Indiana. Since 2008, she has traveled to churches in Indiana and Michigan to speak. In 2009, she served as a teaching assistant in pastoral care and Greek courses at Anderson University, teaching occasional class sessions and leading study groups.
Sarah has been speaking on disability-related topics since 1990. Her presentations have included a discussion of research strategies for college students with visual impairments at the American Council for the Blind convention in 2001; a co-leld discussion of inclusion strategies for people with disabilities in communities of faith at the Candle in the Window conference in 2001; discussions of strategies for teaching the use of technology and meeting the needs of older homeschoolers with visual impairments at a conference for homeschooling parents in North Carolina in 2006; and a presentation about the needs of people with visual impairments of various faith backgrounds at the American Council of the Blind convention in 2009. In addition to these presentations, she has also presentated on numerous occasions to local groups about the work of dog guides and related topics.
